In January, Fisheries Management Scotland issued a new catch and release document, again stressing the need to use a net, keep the fish in the net when removing the hook, and, if necessary, photograph it in the net ie these valuable, endangered fish should be treated with respect and given every chance to reach the spawning redds without the dangers caused by manhandling.
